Dennis R. Douglas

Dennis R. Douglas, 82 years of age, of Clyde, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Park Villa Nursing Home in Clyde. He was born on November 14, 1940, in Clyde, Kansas, to Roland and Teresa (Caron) Douglas.
Dennis was a 1958 graduate of Clyde High School.
On September 5, 1959, he married Sherril Brosseau at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyde. To this union two boys were born, Chris and Eric.
Dennis worked as a meat cutter at the Clyde Ideal Market for 17 years. He then managed Makin Bacon of Clifton for 17 years. He retired from Clifton Co-op where he drove the feed truck. Dennis and his brother Louis also owned and operated 4-D Fur Farm in Clyde for many years.
He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde Golf Association where he served as past president. Dennis volunteered his time in helping maintain and care for the Clyde Golf course for several years.
Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, golfing, woodworking and was an avid K-State fan. He was a gifted wood craftsman where he made nativity scenes, bird houses and various wood projects and attended craft fairs.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Sherri Douglas, Clyde, Kan.; two sons, Chris Douglas (Kim) of Hutchinson, Kan., Eric Douglas (Jenni) of Bel Aire, Kan.; four grandchildren, Lindsey Henning (Steven), DeLand, Fla., Mackinzie Blake (Trevor), Hutchinson, Kan., Austin Douglas and friend Rebekah, Wichita, Kan., Jackson Douglas, Denton, Texas; a great-granddaughter, Rylee Henning, DeLand, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Karen LeBlanc, So. Hutchinson, Kan.; two brothers-in-law, A.J. Brosseau (Becky),  Mission Viejo, Calif., Robert Brosseau (Shirley), Ammon, Idaho; sister-in-law, Maxine Boling of Clyde, Kan.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Teresa; father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Helen Brousseau; brother, Louis Douglas; brothers-in-law, Rick Brosseau and Don LeBlanc; sister-in-law, Sheri Brosseau; his nieces, Ali, Kathy, and Carol; a nephew, Steven.
Visitation will be held from 1-8 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022, at the Chaput Mortuary, Clyde. A Rosary service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Chaput Mortuary. The family will receive friends after the Rosary service. A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 3, 2022, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, Kansas, with Fr. Steven Heina officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Clyde. The family has asked that everyone dress casually for the memorial mass service in memory of Dennis. There will be a luncheon served following the graveside service at the Church.
