Erma M. Hill

Erma M. Hill, 89, of Hutchinson, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Park Villa Nursing Home in Clyde, Kansas. She was born December 30, 1932, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of Oril and Geneva E. (Parrish) Hemphill.
She graduated from Hutchinson High School with the class of 1950.
Erma worked as a para-educator at Winans School in Hutchinson and Yoder Grade School in Yoder, Kansas. She also was a hospice volunteer.
She was a member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in rural Burrton, Kansas. Erma was also a member of the NALC Auxiliary.
Erma was united in marriage to Jay Howard Hill on June 22, 1952, at the United Methodist Church in Hutchinson.
Survivors include her four children, Bradley Jay Hill of Enterprise, Craig Alan (Mark) Hill of Fort Wayne, Ind., Richard Eugene (Nelly) Hill of Brock, Texas, and Janice Kay (Tim) Stangel of Concordia; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Norman Hemphill of Hutchinson.
Erma was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, John Hemphill and Oril Hemphill Jr.; and sister, Rosemary Nye.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2022, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, rural Burrton. The services will be livestreamed at www.facebook.com/wigginsfuneralhomes. Burial will follow at Valley Township Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, December 4, at Ott Funeral Home, Haven.
