Joe Sorell, age 50, formerly of Clyde, entered into rest on Sunday, November 10, 2019, at his current residence in Clifton, Kansas. He was born on August 30, 1969, in Concordia, Kansas, to Jerry and Kathleen (Alexander) Sorell.
Joe was a 1988 Clifton-Clyde graduate. He attended Cloud County Community College, Concordia.
He married Jennifer Nicholas in Clyde, Kansas, and they later divorced. To this marriage two children were born, Autumn and Zach Sorell.
Joe worked in the Maintenance Department at the Cloud County Community College in Concordia, Kansas. Joe also mowed several lawns with his son Zach in the Clyde and Clifton Communities. Joe also did custodial work for the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyde.
Joe, along with his brother Judd, were prior owners of Last Call Bar and Grill in Clyde for several years. Joe and Dave Collins also owned and operated Rocker’s Music store in Concordia. Joe loved being outdoors, he was avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting, watching all sports, and he was a KC Royals and KC Chiefs fan, and loved attending his kids' activities. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Sons of American Legion Post #27 Clifton, VFW Aux. Post #7515 Clyde.
He is survived by his two children, Autumn Sorell, Clyde, Kan.; Zach Sorell, Concordia, Kan.; his parents, Jerry and Kathleen Sorell, Clyde, Kan.; a sister, Amy McCollough (Bob), Union, Mo.; a brother, Judd Sorell (Amber), Clifton, Kan.; grandmother, Rita Alexander, Clifton, Kan.; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Lawrence “Bus” Alexander, paternal grandparents, William “Wilcid” and Edna Sorell.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2019, at Chaput Mortuary, Clyde. A Rosary Service will be held 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, Kansas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 15, 2019, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Clyde, with Fr. Steven Heina officiating.
