John M. Shuler

John Matthew Shuler, "Shuler Boy," age 56, of rural Concordia, Kansas, left this earthly life on Saturday, May 20, 2023, surrounded by his family at his home in rural Concordia. He was born August 24, 1966, in Concordia, Kansas, to Lorence and Mary (Blochlinger) Shuler.
John enjoyed baseball, football, horseshoes, slow-pitch softball, 80's Rock in his garage, but most of all, spending time with his family and friends. John was an avid K-State fan, and competitive in everything he did. He may not have been a world traveler, or much of a traveler at all, but he did experience a lot of adventures and saw a lot in his short life.
John was a 1985 graduate of Concordia High School.
He married his high school sweetheart Sheryl Veasey on June 7, 1985, in Concordia, Kan.
John had several small jobs in high school but made his career working at ABB, now known as Concordia Technologies, as a metal prep leadman since 1986. He also enjoyed helping on the family farm, helping Ronnie and Brian Dorman, along with caring for his small cattle herd.
He will forever be loved and missed tremendously by his many family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Veasey Shuler, Concordia, Kan.; three children, Lexie and husband, Travis Herrman, Concordia, Kan., Alisha and husband, Dustin Reynolds, Courtland, Kan., and Colby Shuler, Concordia, Kan.; brothers, Larry and wife, Kim Shuler, Concordia, Kan., Edward Shuler, Ozawkie, Kan., and Carl Shuler, Claycomo, Mo.; sisters, Avis Brooks, Concordia, Kan., and Carla and husband, Dan Rosenthal, Malone, Wis.; nine grandchildren, Tristyn Reynolds, Kylee Herrman, Treyton Reynolds, Layne Herrman, Tayla Reynolds, Kinley Lambert, Liam Shuler, Maverick Shuler, and Lyrica Shuler, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. He was welcomed into heaven by his parents; sisters, Linda (Shuler) Haist and Betty (Shuler) Holechek; brothers-in-law, Ron Brooks, and Ern Haist, and grandson, Triptyn Reynolds.
Per John's wishes, please dress casual or in sports/K-State apparel.  
Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Ehlers officiating. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 29, 2023, all at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hollis Cemetery, Hollis, Kan.
