Lorene J. Hammon, age 85, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, at the Wesley Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas. She was born on June 4, 1937, in Marysville, Kansas, to Fred and Martha (Schultz) Harries.
She graduated from Marysville High School in the Class of 1955.
Lorene married Charles W. Hammon and they raised three children.
Lorene worked approximately 13 years for Scott Specialties Inc. in Concordia many years ago. She was also a homemaker.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Concordia.
Lorene enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking for her family making incredible meals. Most of all she loved spending time with and caring for her family.
She is survived by her three children: daughter, Linda Kay, Concordia, Kan.; her son, Charles Hammon & wife Air, Wichita, Kan.; her four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren & many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Martha; two brothers, Lawrence and Vern Harries; a sister, Shirley Frahm.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, September 23, 2022, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home with Pastor Dwight Whitead officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2022, at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia.  Burial will follow the services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia.
