MADELINE Z. ALDERSON

Madeline Z. Alderson, age 97, entered into rest on Friday, December 06, 2019 at Park Villa Nursing Home, Clyde, KS.  She was born on July 9, 1922 in Clyde, KS to Zephyr T. & Eva (Hebert) Sorell.

She graduated from Miltonvale High School.  She married Donald M. Alderson on Sept. 10, 1946 in Concordia, Kansas and to this marriage 8 children were born, Marjean, Stan, Sally, Blair, Brad, Jerry, Robert and Joel.  He preceded her in Oct. 2000.  She worked for 15 years as an engraver for the Blue Ribbon Trophy Co in Buena Park, CA and later worked as an area supervisor and office staff for ALCO in Concordia for 15 years.  Upon her retirement, she worked at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.

She was member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of Clyde, VFW Post #588 Ladies Auxiliary of Concordia & past member of the E.H.U. She loved sewing and crafts.  She especially enjoyed visiting her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and her great-great grandchild.

She is survived by her daughters, Marjean Bemis (Perry), Valley Center & Sally Hood, Hesston; sons, Robert Alderson, Falls City, NE, Jerry Alderson (Kelly), Sedgwick, Brad Alderson, Wichita, Blair Alderson (Kim), Concordia & Stan Alderson (Jacine), Chapman; a brother, Larry Sorell (Madonna), LaPlata, MO; 9 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents; son, Joel Alderson; grandson, Blake Alderson & brother, Jerome Sorell.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m, with a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. at the Chaput Mortuary in Clyde, family will receive friends after the Rosary.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Fr. Steven Heina officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Clyde.
