Mildred “Midge” May Duvall

Mildred “Midge” May Duvall, age 79, Concordia, Kansas, resident, passed away July 27, 2023, at Park Villa Nursing Home, Clyde, Kansas. Midge was born the daughter of Lester E. Duvall and Mary G. Davis Duvall on October 25, 1943. Midge grew up in Concordia and went to country grade school, and then graduated from Concordia High School.
She moved to Washington, D.C., and worked in the Treasurer's Department for one year. She then moved back to work at Irwin Army Hospital in Fort Riley in the Medical Records Department for two years. After two years Midge decided to move back to Concordia and attended nursing school in Beloit, Kansas, for her LPN, then went to Cloud County Community College for her RN. After obtaining her RN, Midge started working at St. Joseph Hospital, CCHC and Republic County Hospital in long-term care in Belleville, Kansas, for over 35 years until her retirement.
In her free time, Midge enjoyed playing bingo, company from her dogs and her horses.
Midge was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and Norman Chartier; niece, Leslie (Jeff) Walker.
Midge is survived by nieces, Tammy (Ron) Elsasser, Debbie Vanous, Mary Brown, Brenda (Jonathan) Alfaro; 12 great-nieces-and nephews; 26 great-great-nieces-and nephews, and six great-great-great-nieces-and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, August 11, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., at Nutter Mortuary, Concordia, Kansas.
Graveside Services will be Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Morrison Cemetery, rural Concordia, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the NCK Down Syndrome Society or the O’Connor Animal Shelter.
