Robert J. Largent

Robert J. Largent, age 90, of Concordia, Kansas, left this earthly life on Thursday, March 23, 2023, surrounded by his family at Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia, Kan. He was born on September 9, 1932, in Concordia, Kan., to Walter A. & Carrie M. (Bechtel) Largent.
Bob graduated from Concordia High School class of 1950. He married Georgia M. Davenport on Oct. 12, 1958, in Concordia and she preceded him on September 30, 2021.
Bob served four years in the U.S. Navy. He was a serviceman for KP&L gas company for 20-plus years and later served in the parts department for Babe House Motor Company and as the custodian for The Baptist Church. Bob also served as a volunteer fireman. He was a member of The Baptist Church, VFW #588 and the American Legion #76.
He is survived by his son, Randy Largent, Concordia; daughter, Michelle Metro (Jim), Concordia; grandchildren, Jordan Metro (Kelsey), Marion & Jera Metro, Plainville & great-grandchildren, Kaelynn & Peyton Metro and Boone Metro & a brother, Francis Largent (Jacque), Palm Desert, California.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia; his parents; four brothers & six sisters.
It was Bob’s wishes to be cremated and Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Concordia, with military honors by American Legion Post #76. Visitation is Tuesday, March 28, 2023, from 1-8 p.m., with the family greeting friends from 6-7 p.m. at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Youth at The Baptist Church, Wounded Warrior Project or Meadowlark Hospice in care of the funeral home.
