Royanne Louise Tatro (Brownell)

Royanne Louise Tatro (Brownell), 73, Glasco, Kansas, passed away on August 2nd, 2022, at The Nicol Home in Glasco. She was born on Oct. 18th, 1948, in Concordia, Kansas.  Royanne was the daughter of Roy Brownell and Dorothy (Hurley) Brownell. 

Royanne was a 1966 graduate of Glasco High School.  She was a very personable student who participated in Band, Pep Band, Dance Band, Trumpet Trio, Brass Quartet, Pep Club, Star Dusters, Mixed Chorus, Girls Glee, Future Homemakers of America Club, FHA, and the Senior Play.  She was nominated for Homecoming Queen; she was friendly to all, and she was accepted and admired by many of her peers.  If there was going to be an event, Royanne was going to be there.

Royanne and George Tatro were joined in marriage June 15th, 1968.  The couple resided in Kansas City, Missouri, before moving to Concordia, Kansas; the couple later settled their family back in Glasco, Kansas, where they raised their two children -- Michael, and Christopher -- and retired.  George retired from the natural gas pipeline, and Royanne retired as the Owner/ Operator of the Glasco Sun Newspaper.

Royanne was an athlete who loved playing softball and bowling.  She was very fond of traveling (cruises, RVs) and the outdoors.  She loved the water of any kind -- oceans, rivers, lakes.  If the water was blue (her favorite color), she wanted to see it.  She was an exceptional fisherwoman.

Royanne was a very giving, compassionate person who was always there if anyone needed anything.

She was preceded in death by her parents Roy Brownell and Dorothy (Hurley) Brownell, her brother William (Bill) Brownell, her husband George Tatro, and her son Christopher Tatro.

Royanne is survived by her son Michael and his wife Ammie with their two children Christian and Hannah as well as Christopher's sons Raef, and Grant.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M., Monday, August 8, 2022, at Wilson Family Funeral Home, 405 Argyle Ave., Minneapolis, KS 67467.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Nicol Home and be left in care of the funeral home.
