Thomas “Tom” M. Price

Thomas “Tom” M. Price, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at his home in Concordia, Kansas, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 23, 1946, in Concordia, Kan., to Keith M. & Hazel G. (Sterling) Price.
Tom graduated from Concordia High School in 1964. He attended a semester at Cloud County before enlisting in the U.S. Navy and served his country for three years and nine months as a Navy Corpsman. He served a tour in Vietnam assisting the U.S. Marines as medical ground support. He was a recipient of a Purple Heart and the Navy Commendation with V device.
Tom married Diane Brunell on October 5, 1968, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kansas City, Mo.  They have been married for 53 years. Tom worked as an x-ray technician for the St. Joseph Hospital in Concordia, Kan., for 28 years and later served as a rural mail carrier in Belleville, Kan., for 15 years and seven months.
Tom was an avid golfer and was a member of the Concordia Country Club, American Legion Golf Course and then Concordia Golf & Wellness, where he played on Men’s Night and with Diane for Friday Scotch Foursomes. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #76, VFW Post #588 and later, Clyde VFW Post #7515.
He is survived by his wife, Diane, Concordia, Kan.; sons, Ryan Price (Kris), Concordia, Kan. & Rob Price (Sheri), Johnstown, Colo.; granddaughters, Kacie Price, Concordia, Kan. & Brynn & Jules Price, Johnstown, Colo.; sister, Karen Huffman (Hershel), Salina, Kan., and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded by his parents; brothers, Norman & Richard Price & sisters, Donna Buck, Bonnie Yount & Diann Mason.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Concordia, Kan., with Fr. David Metz officiating. Burial will follow at St. Concordia Cemetery, Concordia, Kan., with military honors conducted by the U.S. Navy and American Legion Post #76. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, with a rosary at 6 p.m. and the family greeting friends after the rosary, all at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kan. The family suggests memorials to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church or Catholic Charities, all in care of the funeral home.
