Virginia L. (Venning) Ransopher

Virginia L. (Venning) Ransopher, age 97, entered into rest on Saturday, May 30, 2020, at the Park Villa Nursing Home, Clyde, Kansas. She was born on January 31, 1923, in Concordia, Kansas, to Harry and Bertha (Bender) Venning.
She was a graduate of Concordia High School. Virginia also attended Kansas State University and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
On January 27, 1943, she married Bill Ransopher. They celebrated 62 great years of marriage. Bill preceded her in death on September 4, 2005.
To this marriage three children were born, Jack, Janet and Ann.
Virginia worked as a bookkeeper alongside Bill at George W. Hays & Son, a business they owned and operated in Clyde for many years.
She was a former member of P.E.O. and Research Club. She belonged to several bridge clubs and was an avid fan of Kansas State Football and the Kansas City Royals. She loved the game of golf and she and Bill were members of the Concordia Country Club for many years.
Virginia and Bill loved to travel, and most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Jack Ransopher (Bonnie), Clyde, Kan.; 2 daughters, Ann Lowell (Jay), Concordia, Kan.; Janet Graber, Oklahoma City, Okla.; 6 grandchildren, Sandra Parr (Donn), Amy Allen (Klay), Rick Graber, Robin Markwell (Tripp), Rans Lowell (Allegra), Leah Loring (Michael), 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill”, and parents, Harry and Bertha, a sister, Dorothy Murry, daughter-in-law, Eileen Ransopher.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, from 1-5 p.m., with a Celebration of Life service to be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2020, all at the Chaput Mortuary, Clyde, with Joshua Meyer officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Clyde.
