A Closer Walk

"There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humor," Charles Dickens. Laughter is contagious. It's catching. Someone starts laughing, then someone else, then everyone is laughing. Laughter is contagious. Here is one person's opinion, if there is anything on God's earth that every single person needs more of, it is laughter and humor. For the humor part, the Blade-Empire feature "The Life of Ryan" might help with that.

There is a saying, "Laughter is the best medicine." The Holy Scriptures seem to back this up. "A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones," Proverbs 17:22 NASB. A little laughter brightens most everyone's day. Unfortunately some don't see it that way. My beloved and I both have been told at various times and in different places that, "You are too happy!" Is that possible? Is that like being too rich, or too good looking? Regardless, a good laugh, or even a chuckle, will brighten most everyone's day.
The Scriptures tell us that a joyful heart is good medicine. Our spirit being filled with joy is good medicine for these feeble earthly bodies that we now inhabit. "This is the day which the Lord has made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it," Psalm 118:24 NASB. "Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say rejoice," Philippians 4:4 NASB. There might be a song in there somewhere in both these passages. Whatever the day may bring, we are able to rejoice that our gracious Heavenly Father has made this day for us, as well as all who inhabit planet earth. We can rejoice that we HAVE a gracious Heavenly Father. And that He has granted us another day of life. We can rejoice that the Lord Jesus came to save us from our sins. We can rejoice that He now sits at the right hand of God, working as our advocate, and making intercession for us with the Lord.

We have been adopted by the Lord God Almighty as sons and daughters, and we are joint heirs with the Lord Jesus Christ. Ponder that thought for a moment. We, you and I, are joint heirs with Christ. And we will share in His inheritance. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! If that doesn't make you want to shout with rejoicing, well, you might want to have your shouter checked out.
Another thing. "For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct Him? But we have the mind of Christ," 1 Corinthians 2:16 NASB. We have the mind of Christ? That is what the Scripture says. Having the mind of Christ enables us to see things and people as the Lord Jesus might see them. If you have chosen to give part of your income to the Kingdom of God, why did you choose that action? Perhaps because you now see all the needs that are out there and still require supplying. Can we provide for every need? No. But we may be able to supply one need, or even a part of a need. Plus if we join together with the brothers and sisters in our local church we could be able to supply even more and bigger needs that our church has decided to work on. All to the glory of God.
We all could use a bit more laughter and humor in our lives. And we all could spend more time rejoicing. We have any number of things in the Kingdom of God to rejoice about. And we have our varied and abundant earthly blessings blessings to rejoice over. We serve an Amazing God!
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I say rejoice!
