Letter to the Editor 1-6-23

Dear editor,
I am recommending that  calls of appreciation go to Senator Roger Marshall's Garden City Office at 620-765-7800, to thank him for voting against the $1.7 plus TRILLION, pork-laden, Omnibus Spending Bill which all U.S. Senate Democrats, along with 18 Republican Senators (including Senator Jerry Moran) voted to pass just prior to Christmas 2022.
Sen. Marshall was willing to stay in D.C. over Christmas in order to work on the budget and hopefully pass a Continuing Resolution to give the newly elected Congress a chance to sort out wasteful spending measures that are (instead) now permanent for the entire year of 2023. It did not have to be this way. Please note the following from Senator Marshall with my commentary added in parenthesis plus  highly questionable (???)  measures which American taxpayer citizens will now have to tolerate for another year.
Among the wasteful provisions in the $1.7 plus, trillion package are:
$47 billion ( total amount spent now by U.S. @ $110 Billion)
 deficit spending to fund the war in Ukraine (with no oversight allowed for spending accountability, since designated in 2015 as "the most corrupt nation in Europe").
$3.2 billion
 to continue processing and releasing illegal migrants at a faster pace and larger scale. (While Border Patrol Agents, land owners and other private citizens are being overwhelmed by an invasion of what has been multiple millions of illegal immigrants from many, various nations over the last 2 years under the Biden Administration).
$800 million
 for grants for liberal (Democrat-run) cities like New York, Washington, D.C., and Chicago to receive illegal aliens (at the expense of U. S. Citizens, including naturalized, legal immigrants).
$1.6 million
 for the Leahy Center in Vermont, named after (Democrat) Sen. Patrick Leahy, the member who requested the earmark.
$750,000
 for “LGBT and Gender Non-Conforming housing” in Albany, New York. (???)
$750,000
 for the “TransLatin @ Coalition” to provide “workforce development programs and supportive services for Transgender and Gender nonconforming and Intersex (TGI) immigrant women in Los Angeles.” (???)
$3.6 million
 for a Michelle Obama Trail in Georgia. (???)
$1.7 billion
 for ATF to enforce regulations that will take away Americans 2nd Amendment (law abiding citizen's gun) rights.
$83 billion
 total emergency appropriations that are also not paid for with spending offsets in the regular budget. (Something you and I cannot do with our budgets).
$2 billion
 in defense funding for clean energy investments. (One wonders what all this may entail?)
$3 million
 for the American LGBTQ+ Museum in New York City. (???)
$2.3 million
 to encourage student loan holders to enroll in the Biden administration’s illegal loan cancellation scheme. (Which the U.S. Supreme Court has put on hold).
$370 billion
 on Green New Deal style handouts to “green” industries. (Communist China should benefit nicely while we continue to pump up their economy as we purchase their technology and products to promote our reliance on unreliable "green" energy).
$1.2 million for “LGBTQIA+ Pride Centers.”(???)
$1.2 million
 for “support services for DACA recipients” at San Diego Community College (which are financial perks for students who are children of illegal immigrants.)
$1 million
 for Zora’s House in Ohio, a “coworking and community space” for “women and gender-expansive people of color.” (???)
$1.5 million
 for the COVID-19 American History Project. (???)
$3.5 million
 to fund the Office of Diversity and Inclusion in Congress. (???)
$1.5 billion
 in taxpayer funding for something called the Advanced Research Projects Agency – Health (ARPA-H). (???)
Designates a (park renamed to the) “Ukrainian Independence Park” in Washington, D.C. (How does this help Ukraine to win their conflict?)
An extra $212.1 million
 to the DOJ to further prosecutions of J6 defendants and investigate and charge hundreds more. (So when will all of the 2020, BLM/Antifa, violence, including arson, vandalism, looting and killing of 15 innocent citizens, begin to be investigated which took place across several states, prior to J6 but were called "peaceful protests" by left-of-center, political voices?)
$410 million
 to "remain available" to reimburse Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia and Oman for "enhanced border security." At least $150 million of that must go to Jordan, according to the bill. ( While our U.S. Border remains pretty much wide open to whomever, including extensive drug and human trafficking/smuggling by dangerous cartels and those with other criminal, terrorist intentions?)
$575 million in a global health section allocated for “family planning/reproductive health, including in areas where population growth threatens biodiversity or endangered species.”(I translate this as being the all-out promotion of abortion on demand.)
Senator Moran (no longer a reliable conservative voice/vote) was recently re-elected but he ought to hear from constituents who are not pleased with this recent Omnibus vote. He can be reached @ 202-224-6521 in D.C. or in Kansas @ 785-539-8973, Manhattan office. Last but not least, please lift in prayer, our beloved  America, to be able to hopefully receive the mercy of GOD as evil increases and abounds.
