Letter to the Editor 11-25-22

Dear editor,
"Tell a veteran 'Thank you for your service'; Do it any day of the year, not only on Veterans Day," said speaker Marge Higgins at the Veterans Day Service at the American Legion Post. She introduced four veterans from the Sunset Home Veterans Group, who briefly spoke.
Sarah Jeardoe sang the National Anthem and accompanied herself on the guitar singing the Veterans Alleluia. Taps closed the service.
The Avenue of Flags was raised by area volunteers, including the CCCC baseball team, the CMS 6th grade class, and American Legion and Auxiliary members.
November 11 was an extremely cold day; some poles were frozen together and had to be pulled to loosen. Volunteers, again including the baseball team, helped take the flags down, fold, and pack away until Memorial Day 2023.
The Avenue of Flags Committee thanks everyone who helped with Veterans Day 2022. We thank the Blade newspaper and KNCK radio station and local businesses for their coverage and information provided. We hope the Concordia area residents took the opportunity to see the flags flying and remember all veterans, living and deceased. And as Marge said, tell them "Thank you."
