Letter to the Editor 7-29-22

Dear editor,
Kansas entered the Union as the 34th state January 29, 1861. The people who settled this state stood for freedom against expansion of slavery.  Their courage and moral beliefs bonded them in unity shortly before eight other states seceded from the union.
The fundamental issue of freedom and liberty, voted on by the people -- often in the face of intense violence and treachery, established Kansas a FREE State and remains so to this day.
Reaffirm your dedication to Kansas as a FREE State by voting NO August 2 on an amendment to alter the state constitution.
p. s. Watch for tricky wording in the proposed ballot phrasing.
