Notre Dame Scholarship recipients announced

The Notre Dame Scholarship announced the 2020 scholarship recipients.
Scholarships are awarded primarily based on student involvement in church and community activities during their high school years.
Scholarship winners include: Alex Bonebrake, $550; Beau Bonebrake, $550; Courtney Mansfield, $2,500; Hailey Budke, $2,700; Jacob Williams, $2,700; and Ivon Owen, $2,500.
Included in the $11,500 in scholarships awarded were: $400 in scholarships from Cloud County Community College; $1,000 from Kansas State University; and 13 endowed scholarships from the Notre Dame Scholarship Trust, the Ralph and Lucille Hood Family Scholarship Fund, the Maridell I. Steimel Music Scholarship Fund, the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish Scholarship Fund, the Woodrow and Wanda Hood Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Lorena Crimmins Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Timothy L. Pentico Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Chavey Charitable Fund and the Knights of Columbus Scholarship Fund.
Over the past 21 years, the Notre Dame Scholarship Fund has awarded $221,250 in scholarships. The trust was named after the former Catholic high school in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Concordia.
The trustees, all local parishioners of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish, are Bernard Newell, Steve Nyswonger, Lorene Steimel, Mark Boley and Robert Steimel.
