American Legion clips Subway, 13-12

Scoring a run in the bottom of the fourth inning, the American Legion squeezed out a 13-12 Concordia Recreation Girls' Softball win over Subway Tuesday night at the Concordia Sports Complex.
Trailing 12-7, Subway pushed across five runs in the top of the fourth inning to tie the game at 12-12.
The American Legion would get its leadoff batter aboard to lead off the bottom of the fourth inning, and was able to get the winning run home.
Three runs in the first inning gave the American Legion the early lead.
Subway scored one run in the top of the second inning.
The American Legion sent 10 batters to the plate and tacked on six runs in the bottom of the second, and led 9-1.
Subway closed the gap to 9-7 with six runs in the top of the third inning.
The American Legion responded with three runs in the bottom of the third and made it 12-7.
Subway would rally to tie it at 12-12 before the American Legion scored the winning run.
Addison Forshee scored three runs for the American Legion.
In the other game played on Tuesday night, Cloud County Co-op defeated Funk Pharmacy, 21-10.
Funk Pharmacy got out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
Cloud County Co-op answered with six runs in the bottom of the first.
After Funk Pharmacy scored one run in the top of the second inning, Cloud County Co-op added six runs in the bottom half of the inning to go on top 12-5.
Cloud County Co-op then outscored Funk Pharmacy 6-3 in the third inning to make it an 18-8 game.
Funk Pharmacy added three runs in the fourth inning and Cloud County Co-op scored three.
Lilly Jessup and Bailey Conner scored four runs each for Cloud County Co-op.
