Bridwell places third at regional, qualifies for state

HUTCHINSON — Concordia High School freshman Hannah Bridwell earned a trip to the Class 4A state cross country championships by placing third in the regional meet on Saturday, hosted by Buhler High School at Prairie Hills Middle School.
Bridwell turned in a time of 21:36.10 on her way to finishing third.
The top three teams and the top five runners not on one of those teams qualified for state.
The 4A state meet will be run Saturday at Wamego Country Club.
Concordia had three runners competing in the regional meet.
Junior Aubrey Stahlman finished 34th in 26:49.60.
Senior Megan Barr ran 32:27.10 and finished 39th.
Corbin Starkweather, Buhler, won the race in 20:38.40.
Buhler captured the team title with 26 points. Scott City was second with 41 and McPherson was third with 64.
Two Concordia boys ran in the regional meet.
Sophomore Draven Luecke crossed in 34th place with a time of 20:41.90.
Senior Qwinter Thrash finished 35th in 20:50.20.
Lane Whisler, Buhler, won the race in 16:29.50.
Buhler, with its top five runners placing in the top six in the meet, easily won the team title with 17 points. Scott City was second with 79 and McPherson was third with 86.
