Bulldogs pin loss on Panthers

MARYSVLLE — The Marysville High School Bulldogs pinned a 38-30 North Central Kansas League dual loss on the Concordia High School wrestling team on Thursday.
Concordia, in its first dual of the season, got out to a 12-0 lead on Marysville.
Blaike Joubert received a forfeit in the 106-pound class.
Christian Belden, 113 pounds, pinned Zephry Landoll.
Concordia's Ashton Dooley lost a 5-3 decision to Tayven Wilson in the 120-pound class.
The Panthers posted back-to-back wins.
Cody Trost, 126 pounds, pinned Eli Sedlacek.
Carter Eakins pinned Colton Coffman in the 132-pound class.
The Panthers then suffered six straight losses.
Drew Sterrett, 138 pounds, lost a 4-0 decision to Keagan Warders.
Deekon Holbert, 144 pounds, was pinned by Carter Trimble.
Drake Blochlinger lost a 4-1 decision to Gable Fredrickson in the 150-pound class.
Trey Hamiel lost by major decision, 8-0, to Camron Wetter in the 157-pound class.
Mason Eickmann, 165 pounds, suffered a narrow 4-3 loss in three overtimes to Brock Crome.
Caleb Hanson, 175 pounds, lost a major decision, 10-2, to Carter Wassenberg.
Tracer Murdock, 190 pounds, gave Concordia the lead back at 30-26 by pinning Andrew Faith in 1:09.
The Panthers gave up a forfeit to Dakota Slupianek in the 215-pound class.
Marysville then clinched the dual win when Braden Dwerlkotte pinned Max Johnson in the 285-pound class.
In the junior varsity matches, Concordia's Quinn Kymer lost by fall to Evan Herschlag.
Rush LeDuc won a major decision over Ian Lynch.
Connor Novak pinned Tayden Roth.
Ryker Ramirez pinned Zane Blacketer.
Ethan Fields lost by fall to Tucker Robbins.
Clayton Viereck lost a decision to Grant Haefle.
Andrew Romero lost by fall to Gavin Vogelsberg
Braytin Hake lost by fall to Jarret Rose.
The Concordia girls competed in the Abilene High School Invitational on Thursday.
Four Panthers placed first in their respective classes in the tournament.
Ava Metro placed first in the 110C class. She pinned Emalee Glenn, Riley County, in 40 seconds and won by medical forfeit over Bella Stream, Wamego.
Brexlynn Koch went 3-0 on her way to finishing first in the 120D class. She pinned Rayya Hermesch, Wamego; pinned Katie Mead, Topeka Hayden; and pinned Liliana Infante, Junction City.
Gabi Lange captured first in the 130C division. She pinned Ava Cox, Riley County, in 23 seconds and won a 9-3 decision over Taryn Bieker, Plainville.
Jezia Hernandez recorded two wins on her way to placing first in the 155D class. She pinned Mykaila Silvestre, Junction City, in 4:13 and won a 4-3 decision over Kaylee Freeman, Rock Creek.
Skye Johnson, 125D; Ruby Genereux, 135D; Tameka Weber, 140C; and Megan Barr, 145C, placed second for Concordia.
Johnson lost by fall to Nevaeh Rohan, Smith Center, and pinned Brooklyn Kutina, McPherson.
Genereux pinned Shayla Hageman, Plainville, in 1:29 and lost by fall to Khloe Padilla, Smith Center.
Weber pinned Kaylee Dinkel, Hays, in 1:43. She lost by fall to Khloey Affolter, Abilene.
Barr pinned Cristina Pena, McPherson, in 1:11. She was pinned by Gemma Carter, Smoky Valley.
Nevaeh Valcoure, 170C, placed third for Concordia. She pinned Isabel Ochoa, Junction City, in 22 seconds and then lost by fall to Carmelitta Schleif, Wamego, and lost by fall to Emily Casas, Hays.
