CCCC caps off road trip with split 

NEOSHO, Mo. — Finishing up a three-day, five-game road swing, the Cloud County Community College baseball team split a doubleheader with fifth-ranked Crowder College on Sunday.
Cloud County went 1-1 in the University of Central Oklahoma JUCO Fest Friday in Edmond and fell 9-6 to Crowder in the first game of the three-game series.
The Thunderbirds (4-3) defeated Crowder 12-3 in the first game on Sunday, and then fell 9-2 in the second game.
Cloud County scored 11 runs over the final three innings to pick up the win in game one against Crowder.
Trailing 1-0, the T-Birds got a solo home run by Brock Wollin in the top of the second inning to tie it up.
Cloud County broke the 1-1 tie with three runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Crowder scored one run in the bottom of the fifth.
A run in the sixth inning gave Cloud County a 5-2 advantage.
The T-Birds then erupted for seven runs in the top of the seventh inning.
Danny Infante hit a grand slam home run in the inning and Landon Meyer had a two-run shot.
The Roughriders added one run in the bottom of the seventh.
Phil Brennaman pitched four innings to get the win for Cloud County. He gave up one run on one hit, struck out four and walked three.
Mason McConnaughey allowed two runs on two hits, struck out four and walked one in two innings.
Infante was 3-for-4 at the plate with five runs batted in.
Karson Green had two hits and scored three runs.
Aidan Malish had two hits.
Wollin and Meyer drove in two runs each.
Scoring two runs in the first inning, four in the second and three in the third, the Roughriders got out to a 9-0 lead in game two.
Cloud County scored single runs in the fourth and fifth innings.
The T-Birds were limited to three hits in the game.
Cayden Castellanos took the loss. He gave up eight runs on six hits, struck out four and walked one in two innings.
Wil Yamka, Mason Munz, Cole Askew and Luke Schmedding pitched in relief.
Crowder won the first game of the series 9-6 on Saturday.
Cloud County scored two runs in the first inning, two in the third and one in the fourth to go up 5-0.
Crowder put up eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
A run in the sixth inning left the T-Birds trailing just 8-6.
The Roughriders extended the lead to 9-6 with a run in the seventh inning.
Carson Latimer pitched the first three innings for Cloud County and gave up four runs on four hits. He struck out three and walked nine.
Brayden Mackey allowed four runs on two hits, struck out one and walked four in two-thirds of an inning.
Lucas O'Keefe finished up.
Infante homered and drove in two runs for the T-Birds.
Wollin and Caden Walker drove in two runs each.
Cloud County defeated Eastern Oklahoma State 11-5 in the first game of the JUCO Fest on Friday.
A two-run home run by Justin Johnson in the top of the first inning gave the T-Birds the early lead.
Eastern Oklahoma scored one run in the bottom of the first and two in the fourth to go up 3-1.
Six runs in the top of the fifth inning put Cloud County on top to stay, 8-3.
Wollin had a three-run double in the inning.
Eastern Oklahoma scored one run in the bottom of the fifth.
Two runs in the top of the sixth inning and one in the seventh gave Cloud County an 11-4 cushion.
Infante had a two-run home run in the sixth.
Eastern Oklahoma added one run in the bottom of the seventh.
Cloud County used four pitchers and Munz got the win.
Johnson had two hits in four at bats, drove in three runs and scored two.
Infante was 2-for-4 with two runs batted in and two runs scored.
Wollin drove in three runs and scored two.
Paul Schuyler had two hits and scored two runs.
Cloud County then suffered a narrow 8-7 defeat to Northern Oklahoma College-Enid in 10 innings.
Trailing 5-3, the T-Birds to got a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to force extra innings.
Northern Oklahoma scored two runs in the top of the eighth to go up 7-5.
Cloud County again came back and tied it up at 7-7.
Neither team scored in the ninth inning.
A run in the top of the 10th gave the Jets an 8-7 lead.
Cloud County was retired in order in the bottom of the 10th.
