CCCC splits with Raiders

Scoring three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, the Cloud County Community College avenged an earlier loss by rallying past Central (Nebraska) Community College 7-6 in the second game of a doubleheader Wednesday at the CCCC Softball Field.
Cloud County dropped the first game to Central, 13-5.
Central had put up three runs in the top of the sixth inning in game two to take a 6-4 lead.
With one out in the bottom of the sixth inning, Taylor Dekok walked and Brooklyn McCormick followed with a single.
Mia Kelly went in to run for Dekok.
Ryleigh Jones doubled to drive in Kelly with the first run in the inning.
Kaitlynn Baca reached base on a fielder's choice and McCormick scored.
Emily Kvasnicka singled to knock in Jones with the winning run.
Cloud County, now 3-5, grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
Central scored one run in the third inning and two in the top of the fourth to go up 3-1.
Picking up a run in the bottom of the fourth, the Thunderbirds trailed 3-2.
A two-run triple by McKenna Mayhew in the fifth inning gave Cloud County the lead back at 4-3.
Central scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning to go back on top, 6-4.
The T-Birds answered in the bottom of the inning to get the win.
Dekok gave up six runs on eight hits, struck out four and walked three in six innings to get the win.
Mayhew had three hits in three at bats and drove in two runs for the T-Birds.
Jones had three hits and scored two runs and Kvasnicka had two hits.
Cloud County led 1-0 after one inning in game one of the twinbill.
Central put up six runs in the top of the second inning.
Scoring two runs in the bottom of the second, the T-Birds trailed 6-3.
The Raiders tacked on two runs in the fifth inning and two in the top of the sixth to extend their lead to 10-3.
Cloud County added two runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Central scored three runs in the top of the seventh.
Jayden Rehlander suffered the loss for Cloud County. She allowed six runs, one earned, on three hits, struck out one and walked two in three innings.
Kiera Brack and Lynsey Stewart pitched in relief.
Jones had three hits for the T-Birds. Mayhew had two hits and Baca drove in two runs.
