CCCC Track At KU Relays

LAWRENCE — The Cloud County Community College men's and women's track and field teams posted four event wins at the KU Relays that finished up Saturday at Rock Chalk Park.
Kidus Misgina turned in a time of 14:30.81 in the 5,000-meter run to record one of two first-place finishes by the Cloud County men.
Raziel Patton, Mason Schurr, Quwayne Reid and Siyabonga Mokgothu teamed up to win the distance medley relay in 10:23.55.
The Cloud County women had Passion Crews place first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:17.79.
Vimbayi Maisvorewa won the 400-meter dash for the Thunderbirds in 55.95.
The Cloud County men had three second-place finishes in the meet.
Mohamed Ahmed threw 209-11 to finish second in the hammer throw.
Ben Okraska placed second in the pole vault by making 15-7 ¾ and Oageng Mdlela was second in the triple jump with a best of 50-7 ¼.
Cloud County's 4x800 relay team of Patton, Mokgothu, Reid and Hassan Abidi finished third in 7:45.36.
Abidi placed fourth in the 800-meter run in 1:57.33.
Mokgothu was fifth in the 1,500-meter run in 4:00.03.
Emmanuel Wanga finished eighth in the 400 dash in 49.18.
The Cloud County women had Miracle Thompson run 13.77 to place second in the 100-meter hurdles.
Mia Manley placed third in the pole vault by making 11-8 ½. Jasmine Sakaguchi was fourth by clearing 11-2 ½.
Melody Ochana finished fifth in the 1,500-meter run in 4:52.91 and Lucy Ndungu was sixth in 4:55.46.
Jessi Brummett threw 129-1 to place sixth in the javelin.
Vanessa Mercera finished sixth in the high jump by clearing 5-6 and Tamara Thompson was seventh in the shot put with a toss of 40-7.
