CCCC volleyball team wins three of first four matches

COLUMBUS, Neb. — The Cloud County Community College volleyball team got off to a solid start under first year head coach Hilta Ramos by winning three of four matches over the weekend.
Ramos took over as head coach for the Thunderbirds after serving as an assistant to Deb Monzon.
Cloud County posted wins over Labette Community College and Coffeyville Community College in the RKP Invitational hosted by Southeast (Neb.) Community College in Beatrice on Friday.
The T-Birds split a pair of matches in a triangular hosted by Central Community College on Saturday.
Cloud County posted a third consecutive win to start the season by defeating Southwestern (Iowa) Community College 25-20, 25-10, 25-14 in the opening match in the triangular on Saturday.
Host Central Community College then dealt Cloud County its first loss, 25-21, 18-25, 25-22, 25-20.
In the RKP Invitational matches on Friday, the T-Birds swept Labette, 25-7, 25-12, 25-17.
Freshman Bradie Medina had eight kills and 11 digs for Cloud County in the win. Doga Eski added seven kills.
Cloud County then downed Coffeyville in straight sets, 25-10, 25-15, 25-20.
Madison Ronnebaum had eight kills in the win. Madelynn Wells finished with 11 digs.
