CCCC women knock off Beavers, 3-1

PRATT — The Cloud County Community College women's soccer team remained unbeaten in Jayhawk Conference West Division play by knocking off Pratt Community College 3-1 on Wednesday.
Sophomore Aroa Nieto scored two goals as Cloud County improved to 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the conference in posting its fifth consecutive win.
Neito would score her first goal in the first half off a pass from sophomore Izabella Christina Mine.
Pratt, 2-5-0 overall and 1-2-0 in conference play, evened the match at 1-1 with a goal just one minute later.
Cloud County went on top to stay when sophomore Franciele Cupertino scored in the 17th minute off an assist from Mine.
A second goal by Nieto in the 51st minute gave the Thunderbirds the 3-1 advantage. Cupertino got the assist.
Cloud County registered 37 shots in the match to just three for the Beavers.
The T-Birds host winless Garden City Community College, 0-6 overall and 0-3 in the conference, at 2 p.m. Saturday.
