Chevrolet/Buick defeats Pike Valley

Concordia Chevrolet-Buick advanced to the championship game of the Peewee Baseball District 1 Tournament by defeating Pike Valley 8-2 in the semifinals Thursday night at the Concordia Sports Complex.
The Beloit Hornets downed the Beloit Trojans in the other semifinals game played Thursday night.
Chevrolet/Buick takes on the Hornets in the title game at 8:00 tonight.
The Royals play Pike Valley in the third-place game.
Chevrolet/Buick put up four runs on Pike Valley in the top of the first inning.
Boone Richard led off the inning with a single and came around to score.
Deekon Holbert and Kale Schroeder walked and scored.
Baylor Knox was hit by a pitch and scored.
Tacking on two runs in the second inning, Chevrolet/Buick increased the lead to 6-0.
Holbert singled and scored in the inning. Knox walked and scored.
Two runs in the fourth inning gave Chevrolet/Buick an 8-0 cushion.
Richard singled and scored and Holbert walked and scored.
Pike Valley scored its only two runs in the fifth inning.
Richard pitched all five innings to get the win. He gave up two runs on two hits, struck out nine and walked two. He also had two hits and and scored two runs.
Holbert scored three runs for Chevrolet/Buick and Knox scored two runs.
