Chevrolet/Buick topple Storm, 3-1

BELOIT — Brody Knox and Gehrig Bechard combined on a no-hitter as Concordia Chevrolet/Buick defeated the Beloit Storm 3-1 in the opening round of the Kansas State Pee Wee Association District 1 Tournament Monday night.
Concordia Chevrolet/Buick (3-4) advances to the semifinals and will play the unbeaten Concordia American Legion (6-0) on Thursday night.
In the other semifinal game, Pike Valley (8-2) takes on the Beloit Rampage (7-3).
The championship game and third-place games are scheduled for Friday.
Knox and Bechard combined to strike out 11 Beloit batters.
Easton Knox and Kolby Buckley walked and scored runs in the bottom of the second inning to give Chevrolet/Buick a 2-0 advantage.
Chevrolet/Buick made it a 3-0 game when Easton Knox walked and scored in the fourth inning.
The Storm scored an unearned run in the top of the fifth inning to make the final 3-1.
