CHS boys fall to Abilene; girls claim league win

ABILENE — The Concordia High School boys' wrestling team suffered a 53-21 loss to Abilene in a North Central Kansas League dual on Thursday.
Concordia's Blaike Joubert lost by fall to Abilene's Leonardo Rodriguez in the 106-pound class.
The Panthers tied the dual at 6-6 with Christian Belden, 113 pounds, pinning Lane Jermark in 47 seconds.
Concordia dropped the next three matches.
Ashton Dooley was pinned by Gage Taylor in the 120-pound class.
Cody Trost, 126 pounds, lost by technical fall to Murphy Randolph.
Carter Eakins dropped a narrow 6-5 decision to Cael Casteel in the 132-pound class.
Concordia's Drew Sterrett, 138 pounds, pinned Zane Macourbrie in 31 seconds.
Deekon Holbert was pinned by Abilene's Parker Farr in the 144-pound class.
Drake Blochlinger picked up a win for the Panthers by defeating Joseph Welsh, 8-2.
Concordia dropped the next three matches.
Tre Hamiel was pinned by Tucker Cell in the 157-pound class.
Mason Eickmann dropped a 6-0 decision to Landon Taplin in the 165-pound class.
Caleb Hanson, 175 pounds, was pinned by Pierce Casteel.
Tracer Murdock, 190 pounds, captured a win for Concordia by pinning Sergio Alaniz, Abilene, in 1:27.
Concordia was open at 215 pounds.
Max Johnson, 285 pounds, lost by fall to Abilene's Jacob Hanback.
The Concordia girls' team captured its first league dual win by defeating Abilene, 42-33.
Concordia gave up a forfeit in the 100-pound class.
Tierney Breault, 100 pounds, and Ava Metro, 110 pounds, won by forfeit for the Panthers.
Abilene's Josie Keener pinned Breault in the 115-pound class.
The Panthers captured three straight wins.
Brexlynn Koch, 120 pounds, won by forfeit.
Skye Johnson, 125 pounds, pinned Brooklyn Robertson.
Airiana Wogomon, 130 pounds, won by forfeit.
Concordia's Gabi Lange lost by fall to Kaylee Weibert in the 133-pound class.
Ruby Genereux, 140 pounds, was pinned by Abilene's Khloey Affolter.
Kiara Rugg, 145 pounds, pinned Abilene's Tailyn Needham.
Concordia's Jeiza Hernandez, 155 pounds, lost a 4-2 decision to Tailyn Needham.
Nevaeh Valcoure, 170 pounds, won by forfeit for the Panthers.
Concordia gave up a forfeit in the 190-pound class.
Picking up wins by fall for the Concordia junior varsity boys were Quinn Kymer, 120 pounds; Braytin Hake, 138 pounds; and Connor Novak, 144 pounds.
