CHS boys place fifth in Lion’s Club Meet

The Lion's Club Track Meet, hosted each year by Republic County High School, was moved to Concordia on Tuesday.
There were 16 boys' and girls' teams competing in two divisions in the meet.
The Concordia boys scored 60 points and finished in a tie for fifth place with Minneapolis.
Beloit easily won the team title with 179 points. Marysville was second with 90 and Nemaha Central was third with 85.
Scoring 57 points, the Concordia girls tied for sixth place with Republic County.
Nemaha Central won the meet with 109.5 points. Marysville was second with 97 and Beloit was third with 93.5.
Freshman Keyan Miller placed in three individual events for the Concordia boys.
Miller was second in the 100-meter dash (12.07), third in the 200 (24.74) and sixth in the long jump (18-8 ¼). He also ran on the 4x100 relay team with Dalton Long, Kyle Palmquist and Dylan Thoman that finished fifth (46.86).
Alexis Garcia recorded a pair of top three finishes for the Panthers. He was second in the 1,600-meter run (5:13.6) and third in the 800 (2:22.83).
Cade Anderson cleared 10-6 to place third in the pole vault.
Concordia's 4x800 relay team of Garcia, Cav Carlgren, Austin Killian and Sajen Kemling placed third (9:48.36).
Carlgren was fourth in the high jump (5-6).
Oakley Champlin placed fourth in the discus (127-3) and sixth in the shot put (41-2 ½).
Killian finished fifth in the 3,200-meter run (12:08.88).
Concordia's 4x400 relay team of Thoman, Palmquist, Long and Treyton Marsh placed fifth (4:00.98).
The Concordia girls had Zoe Bechard, Sierra Gropp, Katlynn Miller and Emma Wahlmeier place second in the 4x100 relay in 52.39.
Wahlmeier finished third in the 100 dash (13.96) and fourth in the 200 (28.67).
Miller placed third in the triple jump (33-0) and fifth in the long jump (15-1 ¾).
Bechard was third in the long jump (15-7 ½) and fourth in the triple jump (32-3).
Chloe Conway finished third in the high jump (4-10).
Concordia's 4x400 relay team of Bechard, Jordan Gilkeson, Ava Swihart and Terin Rundus placed fourth (4:36.59).
Rundus was sixth in the 800-meter run (2:44.98).
Terryl Loeffler finished sixth in the 100-meter hurdles (18.83) and Karlee Wahlmeier was sixth in the shot put (34-8).
The Panthers will compete in the Phillipsburg Invitational on Thursday.
