CHS girls place fifth in invitational, boys are sixth

The Concordia High School track and field team hosted its invitational meet on April 4 at Harold M. Clark Stadium.

Concordia placed fifth in the girls’ division with 51 points.

Beloit and Buhler tied for first place in the girls’ division with 136 points each. Southeast of Saline was third with 67 points.

The Concordia boys finished sixth in the meet with 34 points.

Southeast of Saline captured the boys’ team title with 168 points. Buhler was second with 151 and Beloit was third with 64.

Carlie Carlgren recorded a first-place finish for the Concordia girls in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.52. Charlize Cash was sixth (17.69). 

Carlgren also ran on the 4x100 relay team with Madalyn Bowers, Lillian Nuss and Kynlee Hamel, that placed second for the Panthers in 51.87.

Hamel placed fourth in the 100-meter dash (13.35) and fifth in the high jump (5-0).

Nuss finished fourth in the 200-meter dash (27.88).

Concordia had Hannah Bridwell place fourth in the 3,200-meter run ( 13:18.90) and sixth in the 1,600-meter run (5:59.25).

The Panthers’ 4x400 relay team of Nuss, Cash, Brexlynn Koch and Gabi Lange finished fourth (4:23.93).

Bridwell, Skye Johnson, Aubrey Stahlman and Rylie Jessup teamed up to take fourth in the 4x800 relay (10:57.69).

Lange placed fifth in the pole vault (9-0).

Koch was sixth in the 400-meter dash (1:07.24).

The Concordia boys had Kaide Gropp finish second in the 200 dash (23.54) and third in the 100 (11.55).

Concordia’s 4x100 relay team of Gropp, Grayson Stephens, Isaias Irigoyen and Cody Trost placed third (46.31).

Trost was fourth in the triple jump (38-9 1/2).

Dane Cleveland placed fourth in the discus (118-50).

Burke Kindel finished fifth in the long jump (18-2 1/2) and sixth in the pole vault (11-6).

Stephens was sixth in the 400 dash (55.52) and Irigoyen was sixth in the high jump (5-6).

Concordia’s 4x400 relay team of Stephens, Trost, Gropp and Ryker Wildeman placed sixth (3:45.16).

The Panthers opened their season at the Clay Center Invitational on April 2.

Concordia finished third in the girls’ division with 88 points.

Beloit won the meet with 213 points and Clay Center was second with 113.

The Panther boys placed fourth with 69 points.

Clay Center finished first with 154 points. Riley County was second with 112 and Beloit was third with 105.

Hamel made 4-10 to win the high jump for the Concordia girls. Lange was third (4-8) and Oakleigh Teel was sixth (4-6).

Hamel was also third in the 100 dash (13.33) and Bowers was fourth (13.54).

Bridwell placed second in the 3,200 (13:29.26).

Carlgren finished second in the 100 hurdles (16.02) and Cash was third (17.46).

Cash was second in the 300 hurdles (51.43) and Carlgren was fourth (53.70).

Lange placed third in the pole vault (8-6).

Nuss was third in the 200 dash (28.82) and Bowers was fifth (28.99).

Concordia’ s 4x400 relay team of Nuss, Cash, Lange and Koch finished third (4:34.50).

Bridwell, Stahlman, Johnson and Jessup placed fourth in the 4x800 relay (11:45.75).

Stahlman was also fifth in the triple jump (29-8 1/2).

The Concordia boys had Kindel win the pole vault by making 11-6. He was fifth in the long jump (18-1/2).

Stephens won the 400 dash in 57.95.

The Panthers got second-place finishes from Irigoyen in the high jump (5-4) and Jadrian Riley in the discus (123-2).

Riley also finished sixth in the javelin (116-11).

Cleveland was sixth in the discus (105-7 1/2).

Gropp placed third in the 100 dash (11.53) and the 200 (23.52).

Trost finished third in the triple jump (39-11) and Carter Eakins was sixth (31-4 1/2).

Stephens, Gropp, Wildeman and Trost placed third in the 4x400 (3:49.04).

Brody Marsh placed sixth in the 3,200 run (14:14.59).
