CHS Golf 3rd At Abilene

MANHATTAN — Lewis VanMeter and Aden Plymesser placed in the top 10 individually to lead the Concordia High School golf team to a third-place finish in the Abilene Invitational played Monday at Stagg Hill Golf Course.
VanMeter posted a score of 86 to place eighth in the tournament.
“Lewis recorded his first competition eagle of his career on hole 12, so that was pretty special,” Concordia coach Gene Rundus said.
Plymesser shot an 87 to tie for 10th place, and won a scorecard playoff.
Concordia shot a team score of 353 to finish third.
Clay Center and Circle each finished with a score of 339.
With a lower score by its fifth man, Clay Center claimed the team title.
Luke Donovan and Keegan Hamel each posted rounds of 90 to round out the top four for Concordia.
The Panthers had Karson Lister and Lennon Ninemire each shoot 96.
“It was a beautiful day for golf, and I felt that the guys played well overall,” Rundus said.
Anderson Helmer, Circle, was the individual medalist with a 76.
The Concordia junior varsity competed in the Republic County Invitational varsity meet.
Concordia was fourth in the four-man division with a 415.
The Panthers competing and their scores were Parker Teel, 99; Justus Trost, 101; Andrew Henderson, 103; Jaxson Brooks, 113; Brett Rosenbaum, 117.
