CHS golf team edges Wamego to win tournament

MANHATTAN — Three players finished in the top seven individually to lead the Concordia High School golf team to the team title in the Abilene Invitational, played Tuesday at Stagg Hill Golf Course.
Seniors Braxton Kindel and Hayden Dvorak each shot 85 for Concordia.
Kindel placed fifth based on a scorecard playoff and Dvorak was sixth.
Sophomore Lewis VanMeter finished seventh with an 86.
Freshman Luke Donovan birdied the 18th hole to shoot an 89 and give the Panthers a one-shot win over Wamego.
Concordia posted a four-man score of 345. Wamego shot 346 and Clay Center was third with a 350.
The Panthers had Aden Plymesser shoot a 90.
Keegan Hamel shot 93 for the Panthers.
Carson Floersch, Clay Center, was the individual medalist with a 77.
Concordia will host its invitational tournament on Monday.
