CHS golfers finish seventh

CLAY CENTER — The Concordia High School girls' golf team competed in the Clay Center Invitational on Thursday at Clay Center Country Club.
Concordia posted a team score of 247 and placed seventh.
Wamego, with the top four individual placers, easily won the tournament with a 154. Manhattan was second with a 200 and Thomas More Prep-Marian was third with a 210.
Cianna DeLeon and Kassidy Bowers each shot 59 to lead the way for Concordia.
Brecklynn Bonner finished with a 63 for the Panthers.
Lindsey Thomas rounded out the top four with a 66.
Concordia had Paige McWhorter shoot 74.
“Today we played Lindsey and Paige in a varsity meet and had a great time,” Concordia coach Gene Rundus said. “It was fun to see the girls compete one more time. All-in-all, it was a good experience and I thought Kassidy did some nice work.”
Addison Douglass, Wamego, shot an even par 34 to earn medalist honors in the tournament.
Ashten Pierso, Wamego, was second with a 41.
Kirby McKee, Wamego, finished third with a 41 and teammate Sara Springer was fourth with a 43.
