CHS has Bonner place fifth

MARYSVILLE — Senior Brecklynn Bonner recorded a fifth-place finish for the Concordia High School golf team in the Marysville Invitational Thursday at Marysville Country Club.
Bonner posted a 54 and tied for fifth place with Hailey Gibson, Maur Hill County Academy.
Concordia finished fifth as a team with a score of 246.
Eudora won the tournament with a 210.
The tournament was scheduled for 18 holes, but was halted during play on the second nine because of lightning.
"We were disappointed that we couldn't finish because the girls really picked it up on the back nine. The rough start really hurt when it came to the weather-shortened format," Concordia coach Gene Rundus said.
Freshman Mya Niehues shot a 58 for Concordia.
Anna Widen, a sophomore, finished with a 63 for the Panthers.
Freshman Maddie Bowers and senior Kaitlyn Nelson each shot 71 for Concordia.
Junior Elora Henderson finished with an 80.
Joellen Vogt, Eudora, was the individual champion with a 44.
