CHS JV boys place second in tournament

ELLSWORTH — The Concordia High School junior varsity boys' basketball team placed second in the Ellsworth Invitational on Saturday.
Concordia defeated Thomas More Prep-Marian 52-45 in the opening round of the tournament.
The Panthers trailed 28-23 at halftime.
Concordia outscored Thomas More Prep 14-12 in the third quarter to close the gap to 40-37.
The Panthers then limited the Monarchs to five points in the final period and scored 15 to rally for the win.
Luke Donovan scored 21 points for Concordia and Chane Parker added 18 points.
The Panthers then lost 54-44 to Hoisington in the championship game.
Hoisington led Concordia 28-22 at halftime.
The Cardinals scored 26 points in the second half to 22 for the Panthers.
Parker led Concordia with 19 points.
