CHS Softball Tops Republic County

Erupting for 36 runs, the Concordia High School softball team pounded out two wins over Republic County in a doubleheader on Thursday.
Concordia shut out Republic County 15-0  in three innings and rolled to a 21-1 victory in game two.
The Panthers got out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning in game one.
Erinae Flesher led off with a single on an error on a ball hit by Kinsleigh Bethune.
Kenlee Williams walked with one out.
A base hit by Emalee Johnson drove in Bethune.
Williams would steal home.
Concordia put up eight runs in the second inning to make it 11-0.
Bethune singled home Gracey Drury with the first run in the inning.
Hanna Acree doubled to drive in Flesher and Bethune.
Williams singled home Acree and scored on a passed ball.
Brecklynn Bonner singled and got home on a base hit by Shaelin Giersch.
Flesher knocked in two more runs with her second single in the inning.
Williams hit a two-run home run in a four-run third inning for the Panthers.
Drury and Kaitlyn Nelson also drove in runs in the inning.
The game ended after three innings because of the 15-run rule.
Acree gave up just two hits and struck out six in tossing the shutout.
Concordia banged out 15 hits.
Flesher was 3-for-3 at the plate with two runs batted in and two runs scored.
Williams had two hits in two at bats, drove in three runs and scored two.
Johnson and Giersch had two hits each and Acree and Bethune knocked in two runs each.
Sending 14 batters to the plate, the Panthers scored nine runs in the first inning in game two.
Concordia drew five walks and had eight of its first nine batters reach base and come around to score in the inning.
Acree drove in two runs for the Panthers.
Three runs in the top of the second inning pushed Concordia's lead to 12-0.
Hattie Blackwood knocked in two runs and Bethune knocked in one.
Republic County scored its lone run in the bottom of the second inning.
Williams and Giersch each singled and scored in the third inning, and the Panthers led 14-1.
Concordia added seven runs in the fourth inning.
Carly Brown walked and scored on a double by Nevaeh Valcoure.
Nelson singled home a run and scored on an error.
Desyn James walked and scored.
Flesher singled home Callie Parker and scored on a single by Bethune.
Brown, batting for a second time, knocked in Bethune.
Flesher pitched all four innings to get the win. She allowed one unearned run on four hits, struck out five and walked one.
Williams had two hits and drove in two runs.
Blackwood and Bethune knocked in three runs each.
Acree, Johnson and Parker drove in two runs each.
