CHS tennis team places fourth in tourney

PHILLIPSBURG —The Concordia High School girls' tennis team placed fourth in the Phillipsburg Invitational on Tuesday.

Concordia scored nine points in the tournament.

Ellsworth captured the team title with 37 points. Phillipsburg was second with 33 points and Scott City was third with 18.

Lacie Duvall placed fourth in number one singles for Concordia. Duvall fell 7-4 to Malorie Cupp, Scott City; 7-3 to Kali Haase, Ellsworth; and 7-0 to Olivia Solida, Phillipsburg. She defeated LeAnne Belkman, Norton, 7-3.

Jesika Bisnette picked up two wins and finished third in number two singles for the Panthers.

Bisnette opened with a 7-6 win over Kennedy Wasingter, Scott City. She lost 7-3 to Fells De La Cruz, Ellsworth, and 7-4 to Gabby Poels, Phillipsburg, before shutting out Layla Puga, Norton, 7-0.

Zoe Britt and Kiara Rugg, playing number one doubles for Concordia, lost 7-1 to Madison Roberts and Tatum Wells, Scott City; 7-1 to Reygan Coonrod and Inaire Rippert, Ellsworth; 7-1 to Jocelyn Billings and Bella Keesee, Phillipsburg; and 7-1 to Alexis Wonderly and Tana Breiner, Norton.

In number two doubles, Concordia's Kacie Price and Daegan DeGraff fell 7-3 to Erin Massaglia and Tyler Koehn, Scott City; 7-1 to Elena Jundt and Hannah Vague, Ellsworth; and 7-3 to Cyrise Brown and Valori Salida.

Price and DeGraff defeated Lauryn Harding and Madison Younkin, Norton, 7-2.
