CHS Track Competes At Belleville

BELLEVILLE — Scoring points in 11 events, the Concordia High School boys’ track and field team placed second in the Belleville Lions Club track meet, hosted Tuesday by Republic County High School.
Concordia scored 96 points in the meet.
Marysville won the boys’ team title with 170.5 points. Nemaha Central was third with 87.
The Concordia girls finished sixth in the meet with 46 points.
Nemaha Central placed first in the girls’ division with 139 points. Beloit was second with 134 and Marysville was third with 106.
The Concordia boys recorded six second-place finishes in the meet.
Chayton Alquist-Pennell ran 12.43 to finish second in the 100-meter dash.
Alan Garcia captured second in the 800-meter run in 2:10.51.
Torxsten Kindel placed second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 17.79. Cole Hobrock was third (18.28).
Hobrock also finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles in 46.84.
Aceyn Cash cleared 5-0 to place second in the high jump. Garcia was fourth (5-6).
Cash was also fourth in the 400-meter run in 56.46. Alec Wildeman was sixth (58.20).
Michael Ashland threw 131-1 to finish second in the javelin. Jadrian Riley was sixth (121-1).
Concordia’s 4x100 relay team placed second in 3:41.97.
The Panthers’ 4x400 relay team was third in 3:41.97.
Alec Francis finished third in the long jump with a best of 18-2 1/4. Kindel was fourth (18-1 1/2).
Hobrock made 11-0 to place fourth in the pole vault. Bergun Kindel was fifth (10-6).
The Concordia girls got a first-place finish by Kynlee Hamel in the 200-meter dash with a time of 28.31.
Hamel also placed second in the 100-meter dash (14.15) and sixth in the high jump (4-8).
Charlize Cash finished second in the 300-meter hurdles for the Panthers with a time of 50.03 and second in the triple jump with a best of 32-8 3/4.
Concordia’s 4x100 relay team placed second in 52.75.
Keely Kindel made 7-6 and tied for fourth place in the pole vault.
