CHS volleyball team places third in Southeast Invitational

GYPSUM — Defeating Salina South for the second time, the Concordia High School volleyball team finished third in the Southeast of Saline Invitational on Saturday.
Concordia was beaten by Abilene in the semifinals of the tournament.
The Panthers bounced back to beat Salina South in two sets, 26-24, 25-12.
Zoe Bechard had seven service points for Concordia in the win.
Shaina Wright finished with six service points.
Kendall Reynolds and Katlynn Miller had five points each.
Concordia opened pool play with a 25-14, 25-16 victory over Salina South.
Miller led the way with 11 service points.
Taegen Larsen had six service points. Wright and Chloe Conway had four each.
The Panthers were beaten by Emporia in three sets.
Emporia won the first set, 25-21.
Concordia pulled even at 1-1 with a 25-22 victory in the second set.
Emporia took the third and deciding set, 25-22.
The Panthers finished 2-1 in pool play by beating Hillsboro, 25-11, 25-20.
Conway had 12 service points.
Wright had nine points with three aces and Bechard had five points.
Abilene downed Concordia in three sets, 25-19, 14-25, 25-21 in the semifinals.
Conway had 10 service points in the loss.
Reynolds had seven points.
Bechard and Wright had six points each.
