CJSHS cross country runners honored

Members of the Concordia Junior-Senior High School cross country team were honored during an awards banquet on Tuesday night.
Freshman Draven Luecke was presented the Boys' Number One Runner Award.
Sophomore Aubrey Stahlman received the Girls' Number One Runner Award.
The Brent Newton Award, presented to the runner who inspires hard work, desire, spirit and heart in their teammates by working hard in every meet and practice and has a true love and dedication to the sport of cross country, went to senior Moyra Barnes.
Boys receiving varsity letters include Luecke and Joel Gross.
Girls receiving varsity letters include Barnes, Stahlman and Megan Barr.
Qwinter Thrash received a provisional letter.
Receiving participation awards were Gunner Barnes and Caidence Buttman.
Eighth grade runners receiving participation awards include: Quinn Kymer, Brody Marsh, Hannah Bridwell, Mya Niehues and Skye Johnson.
Seventh grade runners receiving participation awards include: Daniel Reedy, Bailey Conner, Ashlynn James and Addison Schreiber.
Sixth grade runners receiving participation awards include: Trigg Fraser, Sophia Fraley, Skylah Garst, Preslee Marsh, Sydney Stephens and Rubi Trost.
“I'm encouraged with the current runners that we have had and the success our young junior high runners had this season. I anticipate that we will have several more quality runners coming into the program next year. We have a promising group of runners who have talent and potential to do amazing things,” Concordia coach Rick Haden said. “In the next few years I expect that we will be a strong and vibrant cross country team and that is exciting.”
