CNB knocks off Clay Center, 14-7

CLAY CENTER — Scoring in six of seven innings, Citizens National Bank defeated the Clay Center Tigers 14-7 in K-18 Baseball NCK League action Tuesday night.
Drew Sterrett and Adam Krohn scored runs in the top of the first inning to put Citizens National Bank on top to stay.
Each team scored single runs in the second and third innings, and Citizens National Bank led 4-2.
Three runs in the top of the fourth inning gave Citizens National Bank a 7-2 cushion.
Clay Center added one run in the bottom of the fourth.
Citizens National Bank pushed across three more runs in the top of the fifth inning, and led 10-3.
Clay Center scored one run in the bottom of the fifth and two in the sixth to make it 10-6.
Tacking on four runs in the top of the seventh inning, Citizens National Bank extended its lead to 14-6.
Clay Center scored a run in the bottom of the seventh.
Krohn pitched the first five innings for Citizens National Bank and Coleman Plymesser worked the final two innings.
Krohn scored five runs in the game.
Sterrett scored two runs for Citizens National Bank.
Deekon Holbert and Stratton Garst scored two runs each.
