Concordia boys win team title in Minneapolis Invitational

MINNEAPOLIS — Posting 10 first-place finishes, the Concordia High School boys' track and field team won the team title at the Minneapolis Invitational on Tuesday.
Concordia scored 194 points in the meet. Smoky Valley was a distant second with 123 points and Chapman was third with 113.
The Concordia girls finished third in the meet with 95 points.
Smoky Valley won the girls' team title with 156.5 points. Chapman was second with 125.
Cav Carlgren won two events for the Concordia boys. He was first in the 300-meter hurdles in 43.04 and the high jump by clearing 5-10.
Aceyn Cash finished second in the high jump (5-8).
Toby Wahlmeier ran 23.12 to place first in the 200-meter dash for the Panthers. Keyan Miller was sixth (24.34).
Miller threw 43-4 ½ to capture first place in the shot put.
Aidan Poore cleared 12-6 to finish first in the pole vault.
Cody Trost won the triple jump with a best of 38-10 ½.
Tyler Hobrock threw 144-3 to place first in the discus.
Concordia won the 4x100 relay in 44.85 with Wahlmeier, Miller, Poore and Chayton Alquist-Pennell running 44.85.
Wahlmeier, Kaide Gropp, Drew Sterrett and Cameron Cleveland ran 3:36.40 to place first in the 4x400 relay.
The Panthers' 4x800 relay team of Carlgren, Cash, Alan Garcia, and Alexis Garcia finished first in 8:52.51.
Torxsten Kindel placed second in the 110-meter hurdles for Concordia (17.84). Cole Hobrock was third (18.03).
Kindel was fourth in the long jump (17-4).
Cole Hobrock also placed third in the 300 hurdles (45.06) and Alec Francis was fifth (45.31).
Cleveland was second in the 400-meter dash (54.03).
Alan Garcia finished second in the 800-meter run (2:14.34).
Taye Retter was second in the javelin (133-9) and Dakota Brockman was sixth (119-2).
Concordia's throwers' relay team placed second (50.47).
Alquist-Pennell placed fifth in the 100-meter dash (11.98) and Poore was sixth (12.01).
The Concordia girls had Carlie Carlgren win the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.66.
Carlgren also placed second in the 300-meter hurdles (50.83), second in the long jump (15-2 ½) and fifth in the 200-meter dash (28.10).
Jaida Koester was third in the long jump (14-4 ½).
Concordia's throwers' relay team finished second (1:03.30).
The Panthers' 4x100 relay team of Jesika Bisnette, Acacia Kindel, Alicia Kindel and Asia Garcia placed third (56.24).
Jara Nordell finished third in the high jump (4-10).
Taylor McDaniel placed fourth in the discus (91-11), fourth in the javelin (98-11) and sixth in the shot put (28-3 ½).
Ashley Bartlett was fourth in the shot put (30-0) and fifth in the discus (91-7).
