Concordia has 12 wrestlers place

WAMEGO — Led by individual champions Rush LeDuc and Mason Eickmann, the Concordia High School wrestling team had 12 wrestlers place in the top four in their respective weight classes in the Raider Classic hosted by Wamego High School on Saturday.
Concordia scored 274 points to win the team title. Abilene was second with 234.5 and Wamego was third with 156.
LeDuc, 120-pound class, pinned teammate Ashton Dooley in the championship match. He pinned Alex  Kraemer, St. George, in 1:05 and Jotham Meyer, Central Heights, in his pool and won by medical default over Carson Cunningham, Ottawa.
Dooley went 3-0 in his pool. He won a 4-3 decision over Levi Wilmann, Chapman; pinned Dylan Higgins, Wamego; and pinned Maddix Faulkner, Herington, in 21 seconds.
Eickmann placed first in the 165-pound class. He pinned Trenton Nuss, Herington, in 15 seconds and Sabastian Perry, Tonganoxie, in 21 seconds in his pool.
Advancing to bracket, Eickmann won an 11-3 major decision over Ryan Clark, Chapman; defeated Dalton Evans, Chapman, 7-0; and then won 5-4 over Landon Taplin, Abilene, in the championship match.
Concordia had Christian Belden, 106 pounds; Drew Sterrett, 138 pounds; Drake Blochlinger, 150 pounds; and Tracer Murdock, 190 pounds, place second.
Belden was 3-0 in his pool by pinning Leonardo Rodriguez, Abilene, in 1:05; Cade Allen, Tonganoxie, in 21 seconds; Kalvin Lynch, Alma-Wabaunsee in 1:12. He pinned Anthony Crubel, Rock Creek, in 1:26 in the semifinals before suffering a 4-2 loss to Harry Costa, Wamego, in the championship match.
Sterrett won both of his pool matches. He pinned Remi Droegemier, Rossville, and Joshua Dexter, Chase County.
In the bracket, Sterrett pinned Calvin Magette, Alma-Wabaunsee, in 1:30.  He pinned Lane Hoekman, Abilene, in the semifinals and lost a 12-1 major decision to Knox Karnowski, Wamego, in the finals.
Blochlinger pinned Caleb Darrow, Herington, in 1:18 and Cody Fraedrich, Tonganoxie, in his pool.
In the quarterfinals, Blochlinger pinned Sean Kopecky, Rock Creek, in 1:07. He pinned Carson Reves, Alma-Wabaunsee, in 1:59 in the semifinals and lost 4-1 to Joseph Welsh, Abilene, in the title match.
Murdock went 4-0 in his pool. He pinned Charlie Chance, Rossville, in 46 seconds; pinned Wade Rottinghaus, Rock Creek, in 59 seconds; pinned Michael Shipman, Chapman, in the third period; and pinned Sam Clevenger, Ottawa.
Micah Cauthers, Chase County, pinned Murdock in the championship match.
Carter Eakins, 132 pounds, and Deekon Holbert, placed third for Concordia.
Eakins suffered a 15-12 loss to Cael Casteel in the first round of his pool. He received a bye and then pinned Zaylund Lee, Wamego, in 19 seconds and Sawyer Ibarra, Alma-Wabaunsee, in 1:55.
In the third-place match, Eakins pinned Mason Broce, Rossville, in the third period.
Holbert pinned Clark Miller, Chase County, in his first pool match. He lost a 10-3 decision to Reid Griffiths, Herington, and then pinned Craig Simonsen, Wamego, in 1:20 and pinned Grady Sumrall, Ottawa, in the third period.
Advancing to the third-place match, Holbert pinned Izaya Wenzel, in 1:48.
Concordia had Cody Trost, 126 pounds; Tre Hamiel, 157 pounds; and Caleb Hanson, 175 pounds, place fourth.
Trost pinned Kagan Malec, Tonganoxie, in 48 seconds and Ethan Urbanek, Herington, in 1:25 in his pool. He pinned Weston Johnson, Alma-Wabaunsee, in 1:02 in the quarterfinals; lost by fall to Colton Bell, Chapman, in the semifinals; and lost by fall to Cole Mader, Ottawa, in the third-place match.
Hamiel went 2-1 in his pool. He lost a 16-2 major decision to Cameron Svitak, Herington; defeated Ethan Ibendahl, Wamego, 6-2; and pinned Reese Parish, Ottawa.
In the third-place match, Hamiel, lost by fall to Audiel Becker, Chapman.
Hanson won his first two matches in his pool. He pinned John McGrath, Rossville, in 1:17 and pinned Nick Allen, Rock Creek, before losing by fall to Parker Guge, Ottawa.
Paxton Willet, Rossville, defeated Hanson 11-6 in the third-place match.
