Concordia Lions defeat American Legion

Scoring nine runs in the final two innings, the Concordia Lions pulled away to a 13-2 victory over the American Legion in Peewee Baseball play Monday night at the Concordia Sports Complex.
The Concordia Lions put up two runs in each of the first two innings and led 4-0.
One run in the bottom of the third inning left the American Legion trailing 4-1.
Putting up four runs on four hits and a walk in the top of the fourth inning, the Concordia Lions stretched its lead to 8-1.
The American Legion made it 8-2 with a run in the bottom of the fourth.
The Concordia Lions tacked on five runs in the top of the fifth inning to open up the 13-2 advantage.
Gavin Robinson and Keith Day had two hits and scored two runs each for the Concordia Lions.
Keaton Robeson also scored three runs.
In the other game played Monday night, the Knights of Columbus downed the Concordia Chevrolet Chevy's, 8-2.
Peyton Ryals broke a scoreless tie with a solo home run for the Knights of Columbus to lead off the top of the second inning.
The Knights of Columbus added two more runs in the inning to go up 3-0.
The Chevy's scored one run in the bottom of the second.
Three runs in the third inning gave the Knights of Columbus a 6-1 cushion.
The Chevy's pushed across one run in the fourth inning.
The Knights of Columbus scored two runs in the top of the fifth.
Brady LaBarge did the pitching for the Knights of Columbus.
Easton Knox and Liam Francis pitched for the Chevy's.
LaBarge scored three runs for the Knights of Columbus.
