Eight grade girls fall to Sacred Heart

SALINA — The Concordia eighth grade girls' basketball team was beaten 38-17 by Sacred Heart Junior High on Tuesday.
Sacred Heart led the game 12-4 after one quarter of play.
Concordia was outscored 6-4 in the second period, and trailed 18-8 at halftime.
Sacred Heart added 10 points in the third quarter, and limited the Panthers to two points, to go up 28-10.
Concordia scored seven points in the final stanza, and gave up 10 pints.
Cianna DeLeon led the Panthers with 14 points.
The Concordia seventh grade girls downed the Sacred Heart Junior High B-team, 20-16.
Concordia had a 14-8 lead at halftime.
The Panthers outscored Sacred Heart 6-2 in the third quarter to go up 20-10.
Sacred Heart tacked on six points in the final period.
Carlie Carlgren scored 12 points for Concordia. Hattie Blackwood added six points.
The Concordia C-team, consisting of seventh and eighth graders, downed Sacred Heart, 8-6.
Joann Plush, Melanie Aytes and Zoe Britt scored two points each for Concordia.
