F&A Food Sales, CNB notch wins in tournament semifinals

Two Concordia teams posted wins in the semifinals of the K-18 Baseball NCK League Tournament Thursday night at the Concordia Sports Complex.
Top-seeded F&A Food Sales defeated Clifton-Clyde 12-2 in four innings.
Third-seeded Citizens National Bank rolled past second-seeded Republic County 15-4 in four innings.
F&A Food Sales and Citizens National Bank will meet in the championship game at 7:30 tonight.
Clifton-Clyde and Republic County play in the third-place game at 6:00 tonight.
Clifton-Clyde took a 1-0 lead on F&A Food Sales in the top of the first inning.
Stryker Hake led off the bottom of the first with a double and came around to score.
Keyan Miller singled and scored to give F&A Food Sales a 2-1 advantage.
F&A Food Sales scored four runs in the second inning to make it a 6-1 game.
Miller, Kale Pearson and Logan Leiszler singled and scored in the inning. Hake doubled and scored.
F&A Food Sales extended the lead to 9-1 with three runs in the third inning.
Hake and Alec Francis singled and scored and Pearson walked and scored.
Clifton-Clyde made it a 9-2 game with a run in the top of the fourth inning.
Tacking on three runs in the bottom of the fourth, F&A Food Sales ended the game because of the 10-run rule.
Hake and Francis singled and scored in the inning and Leiszler walked and scored.
Hake had four hits and scored four runs in the game.
Miller had three hits and scored two runs.
Francis had two hits and scored two runs.
Nathan Brown had two hits.
In the other semifinal game, Citizens National Bank fell behind Republic County 2-0 in the top of the first inning.
Citizens National Bank tied the game with two runs in the bottom of the first.
Caleb Hanson was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning and came around to score.
Joey Henderson singled and scored a run.
Scoring six runs on six hits in the second inning, Citizens National Bank went on top to stay, 8-2.
Hanson, Henderson, Easton Atwood and Keegun Beims singled and scored in the inning.
Cav Carlgren was hit by a pitch and scored and Ashton Dooley walked and scored.
Alexis Garcia and Dustin Sterrett had run producing doubles in the inning.
Republic County closed the gap to 8-4 with two runs in the top of the third inning.
Citizens National Bank added three runs in the bottom of the third, and led 11-2.
Atwood doubled and scored in the inning. Henderson walked and scored and Hanson was hit by a pitch and scored.
Citizens National Bank scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to end the game because of the 10-run rule.

Atwood had two hits and scored four runs.
