F&A Food Sales falls 15-7 to Colby

LUCAS — Concordia F&A Food Sales suffered a 15-7 loss to Colby in the opening round of the 72nd Annual K-18 Baseball State Tournament on Saturday.
Colby advanced to the semifinals, and defeated Smith Center Red 8-6 on Sunday.
Smith Center Red downed Phillipsburg 9-4 in the opening round on Saturday.
In the other first-round games, Beloit Red topped Scott City 14-6 and Clay Center got past WaKeeney, 11-3.
Clay Center knocked off Beloit 11-7 in the semifinals on Sunday.
Colby and Clay Center are scheduled to play in the state championship game on Wednesday night. Smith Center will play Beloit in the third-place game on Wednesday.
