Former CHS standout inducted into KU Hall of Fame

LAWRENCE — Heather (Bergmann) Lott, a three-time All-American javelin thrower, was a member of both University of Kansas women's track and field teams that were inducted into the Kansas Athletics Hall of Fame on Wednesday.
The 2023 Hall of Fame class celebrated Title IX with an all-female inductee class.
A 2009 graduate of Concordia High School, Lott was a member of both the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 track and field teams that received Hall of Fame honors.
Kansas placed fourth in the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2012 and had nine individual competitors and one relay team that earned All-American honors, including Lott.
Lott, who is now a science teacher and track and field coach at Minneapolis High School, threw 163-2 and placed sixth in the javelin at the national championships.
The 2012-2013 Kansas team won outdoor championships by scoring 60 points. Lott was one of 10 individuals who earned All-American honors.
Lott threw 172-9 and again placed sixth in the national meet. Her throw established a new KU school record that still stands.
With a throw of 161-3, Lott placed seventh at the national outdoor championships in 2011.
In high school Lott was a four-time state placer in the javelin on Concordia teams that won four consecutive Class 4A state championships.
Lott placed first at state her senior season.
