Foxworth picks up three wins for CCCC

HAYS — Nine Cloud County Community College wrestlers competed in the Bob Smith Open hosted by Fort Hays State University on Saturday.
There were over 325 wrestlers from 20 NCAA Division I, Division II and Division III, NAIA and NJCAA programs taking part in the tournament.
Cloud County freshman Patrick Foxworth, competing in the 141-pound class, recorded three wins.
Foxworth pinned Jarret Mader, Barton Community College, in the opening round. He lost by fall to Cael Hughes, Oklahoma State University; pinned Ku Chow, unattached, in 1:15; won a 17-7 major decision over Skyler Geier-Dodson, Chadron State University; and then lost a narrow 8-6 decision to Corbin White, unattached.
Cloud County had Daniel Vines, 133 pounds; Wyatt Powell, 174 pounds; and Macallistair Chambers, 174 pounds, record two wins each.
Vines defeated Eastin Redetzke, Barton, 14-9 and Tyler Hamm, unattached, 4-2. He lost 9-0 to Gavin Caprella, Air Force Academy, and 12-1 to David Saenz, unattached.
Powell pinned Leo Kubelka, Schreiner University, and won a 16-15 decision over Juan Urbina, Fort Hays State. He lost by fall to Trenton Munozu, University of Nebraska-Kearney, and lost 8-4 to Hunter Richardson, unattached.
Chambers pinned Dante Brown, Colby Community College; lost 19-6 to Josh Palacio, Air Force Prep; defeated Dane Donigan, Newman University; and lost 8-5 to Josh Coon, Adams State University.
Easton Boone, 165 pounds, and Gavin Nutting, 285 pounds, posted one win each for Cloud County.
