Iowa Western downs T-Birds, 10-6

Scoring eight runs in a three inning stretch, the fourth-ranked Iowa Western Community College Reivers dealt the 25th-ranked Cloud County Community College baseball team a 10-6 loss Tuesday at the Concordia Sports Complex.
Trailing 4-2 after three innings, Iowa Western scored eight runs over the next three innings to pull away to the win.
Suffering a third consecutive loss, the T-Birds fell to 16-6 on the season.
Iowa Western (12-4) broke a scoreless tie with a run in the top of the second inning.
Tom Poole homered with Ian Riley and Adler Pierson aboard in the bottom of the third inning to give Cloud County a 3-1 cushion.
Iowa Western made it 3-2 with a run in the top of the fourth inning.
The T-Birds answered with a run in the bottom of the fourth.
Williams Camacho-Soto scored on an error in the inning.
Iowa Western reclaimed the lead at 5-4 with three runs in the top of the fifth inning.
Two unearned runs in the bottom of the fifth put Cloud County back on top, 6-5.
Iowa Western added three runs in the sixth inning and two in the seventh to go up 10-6.
Cloud County would be shut out over the final four innings.
The T-Birds used seven pitchers in the game.
Cole Askew allowed five runs, three earned, on five hits, in taking the loss. He struck out one.
Poole drove in three runs for Cloud County.
