Knights of Columbus roll past Osborne

The Concordia Knights of Columbus advanced to the championship game of the 62nd Kansas Pee Wee Baseball  Association State Tournament by rolling past Osborne 13-3 in the semifinals Thursday night at the Concordia Sports Complex.
The Knights of Columbus will play the Beloit Grasshoppers in the title game tonight.
Beloit slipped past Hanover 3-1 in the other semifinal game on Thursday.
Scoring four runs in the top of the first inning, the Knights of Columbus went wire-to-wire in the win over Osborne.
Jaden Farha walked with one out in the inning, and came around to score the first run.
Jack Gilliland was hit by a pitch and scored.
Brady LaBarge and Peyton Ryals each singled and scored.
The Knights of Columbus upped the lead to 6-0 with two runs in the second inning.
Farha singled and scored and Gilliland walked and scored.
Two more runs in the top of the third inning gave the Knights of Columbus an 8-0 cushion.
Farha walked and scored and Gilliland singled and scored.
Osborne picked up one run in the bottom of the third inning, and trailed 8-1.
Sending 11 batters to the plate, the Knights of Columbus tacked on five runs in the top of the fourth inning and led 13-1.
Gilliland and Ryals each doubled and scored in the inning.
Osborne scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, but the game ended because of the 10-run rule.
Gilliland was the winning pitcher for the Knights of Columbus. He also had two hits and scored four runs.
LaBarge had three hits and scored two runs. Farha scored three runs.
The other semifinal game was tied at 1-1 through the first inning.
Beloit shut out Hanover over the final four innings.
The Grasshoppers put up two runs in the top of the third inning to take the 3-1 lead.
